Property Tax Certificate Service

A property tax certificate is a formal document that you need when buying or selling real estate. You can apply for it here.

The City of Grande Prairie's tax certificate shows the property’s legal description, the most current tax levy, local improvement amount, penalties, payments and adjustments made this year, any arrears or credits from previous years, and the balance outstanding.

Normal requests require five business days to fill, with Tax Certificates being prepared every Thursday. The fee is $30. A rush, one-day service is also available for a fee of $50. The Tax Department will prepare and print the certificate, certify that it is official, and then mail or fax it to you.

To use this service
Search for the property using its address, legal description or tax roll number. A detailed property listing will be displayed on your screen to help you conform that you have selected the correct property.

Payment for the Certificate
If you have an account with the City’s Tax Department, you can charge the fee to your Muniportal account. Or, you can pay using a credit card. Please keep the receipts for your records.
